Business School Essays Remember, the personal questions are just that â€" personal. Which means you should use our guidance for each question just as a suggestion in case you need help. The important thing is expressing who you are, what matters to you and what you want to share with UC. Proofread once more to make sure no odd characters or line breaks have appeared. Talk about yourself so that we can get to know your personality, talents, accomplishments and potential for success on a UC campus. Give yourself plenty of time for preparation, careful composition and revisions. Describe an example of your leadership experience in which you have positively influenced others, helped resolve disputes or contributed to group efforts over time. You are familiar with this construct, work to do at given to you by a school, due by a certain date, otherwise known as homework. Explain how this will benefit you on the course and make you a valuable asset to the university. You can also include a brief sentence or two about your career path or any other plans you have for the future that your university education will enable you to achieve. Remember, the UC applications are a separate system than the Common Application. Reach out to professors/administrators at the school and department of your early schools with questions about the program you expect to apply to. Like mentioned above, you should fully complete your essay idea before getting feedback. You don’t want to come off as lazy, prejudiced, or cynical. Think about how your notes from earlier can be used in relation to the prompt you have chosen, and try to link each paragraph so the essay flows well as a whole. Once you have a solid opening paragraph, think about how you can use your notes to construct several more paragraphs that will make up the bulk of your essay. Don’t start with something generic, such as “when I go into the city, I visit the museums because I like history”. Everyone goes to museums to learn more about history, so this isn’t a personal story.
